Lights, Teddy Bears, and Coffee Mornings - November Update

Teddies

These teddies found a new home at Jah-Jireh. One of our carers brought us a bunch of these teddies and our residents loved them. It brought a smile to those who were feeling a bit poorly and made their day.

Never Too Old to Help

We hosted a Macmillan Coffee Afternoon recently and had a great time. The residents made posters and enjoyed themselves while raising funds to support cancer patients. The money raised helps fund Macmillan nurses, give financial support to those suffering from cancer, and more.

Old age and infirmity haven’t held our residents back from helping others in need. What a vital lesson learned!

Blackpool Lights Display

You cant miss the light show when you are in Blackpool! We enjoyed the 6 mile drive featuring Blackpool’s annual Illuminations display this year. The dazzling lights and electric atmosphere was a treat.

Fun facts:

Blackpool was the first town to have electric street lighting. Blackpool’s Lights were first set up in 1879 when just eight arc lamps bathed the Promenade.

There are an amazing one million lamps of various types and styles, and more than 100 miles of festoon strung between the promenade poles and across the carriageway.

Did you get to see the lights?
