Set in an acre of grounds, our home at Leyland is a beautiful property that has provided our residents physical and spiritual care for nearly three decades.

Our home in Leyland is a very traditional building with spacious park-like gardens and with sheltered sitting areas and a summer house for entertaining visitors. Inside the home, our dining room is a hive of activity with our residents engaged in spiritual activities and fun and laughter. The home also has sitting areas and lounges and a small quiet library. We have an excellent team of carers, 40% of whom have been working with us for more than 5 years.

Note on the recent CQC rating:

We are pleased to note as the report states, our service in Leyland has made ‘significant improvements since the last inspection’ and has moved from an overall rating of ‘Inadequate’ to ‘Requires Improvement’. *

We are also pleased to note that the three areas inspected at our last focused inspection (Safe, Effective & Well-led) have now all received a higher rating. In addition, all the 5 breaches of regulations and the 2 warning notices identified/served at the previous inspection, have been addressed and regulations are now confirmed as being met.

*Please bear in mind the report states that ‘further time was required to evidence that improved practices had become embedded into the running of the home’ hence this has contributed to the overall rating of “Requires Improvement”.

Please be assured that we have every confidence that we will be able to continue to make improvements by building on the many positive changes that have already been implemented.

A Bit of History

The property at Leyland was formerly a derelict property comprising of a main building with attached stables. We bought this property in 1991 and renovated the main building to care for 14 residents. In 1994, work was started to demolish the existing outbuildings and foundations were laid for an extension that would allow us to care for another 22 residents. The work was completed in 1995 and the extension is in keeping with the style of the original property.

I’m happy because all my problems have been solved. Jehovah has helped me come here and he's looking after me. All the staff is lovely. There's nothing to complain. It's Jehovah’s way of looking after us. I am so happy I am here. We go to the garden and we feed birds and its been wonderful.
